A Strategic Advisor Panel (SAP) was established to support GMW to meet the challenges of reduced water availability and a changing customer base.
Sequana led a review that focused on GMW’s ability to deliver efficient, affordable and cost-effective services considering the updated irrigation system. A report recommending 30 initiatives were accepted by the GMW Board & Government including an implementation and transformation plan. Work programs were established & implemented across corporate governance, capital planning and asset management, customer & stakeholder engagement, costs and pricing and overall transformation of GMW led by GMW employees. SAP’s role was to monitor, challenge, guide & support the teams, reporting progress to the GMW Board and Government.
Sequana’s work provided greater transparency and understanding of cost drivers feeding into pricing was established and customers and stakeholders had a greater understanding of these cost drivers resulting in stronger relationships. In addition, GMW’s staff were energised by the transformation process due to their ownership and active engagement throughout and GMW’s pricing was significantly reduced driven by greater overall efficiencies and cost savings.
