Project Engineer

About the role and you:

As a Project Engineer at Sequana Partners, you will play a crucial role in our organisation’s mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions in the water industry. Your experience and expertise will contribute to the successful execution of large-scale water treatment and desalination projects, from initial design and construction through to commissioning. What you’ll do:

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resources required.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements and expectations.

Design and Development:

  • Work closely with design teams to create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials, components, and technologies for project implementation.

Risk Management and Quality Control:

Relationship Management and Team Focus:

Technical Delivery:

Experience you’ll need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or similar relevant qualification in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant water industry experience, with a focus on water treatment including desalination.
  • Proven project delivery skills, with a demonstrated track record of successfully contributing to complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge and understanding of water treatment processes including desalination technologies, design principles, construction methodologies, and commissioning processes.
  • Experience in all phases of project delivery, from initial concept development to operational handover, with a strong appreciation for regulatory requirements and compliance.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.

EXPERIENCED PROJECT MANAGERS (10+ years)

Project Managers

We are looking for ambitious and versatile Experienced Project Managers to support us in delivering several strategic projects for our key clients across the Water Sector.

The role will provide you with an unmatched experience and opportunity to work with and learn from Australia’s leading expert advisors in the Water sector across asset management, major project management, risk management, business strategy, governance and policy design.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management, engineering and technical advice to Sequana clients specific to the projects you will be working on
  • Have full ownership of project outcomes through the utilisation of project management tools and methodologies with a high degree of competence
  • Manage your workstreams to the agreed budget, time and quality for major projects reporting to the Project Director and senior PM
  • Implement judgement in planning and selecting appropriate project management processes and approaches to fit the needs of the project
  • Be responsible for identifying and converting opportunities and coordinating proposals/tendering

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) or a similar relevant qualification.
  • Proven experience in project engineering, project management or a related role.

PROJECT ENGAGEMENT ADVISOR

Stakeholder Communications Advisor

About the role and you:

Due to organisational growth, a new position has arisen for a Project Engagement Advisor to play a critical role in ensuring effective communication between Sequana and its stakeholders, both internal and external. This role involves developing and executing strategic communication plans, building, and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, and providing counsel on stakeholder engagement strategies. The advisor will collaborate with various teams within the organisation to convey clear and consistent messages that align with the organisation’s goals and values.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement complex stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Conduct in-depth stakeholder analysis to inform engagement plans and identify social impacts.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies to foster positive relationships and collaboration.
  • Create comprehensive communication plans that outline targeted messages, channels, and timing for reaching different stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinate engagement events including sourcing quotes, booking venues and promotional activities.
  • Develop content for communication channels, including traditional media, social media, newsletters, briefing notes and others, to effectively convey messages.
  • Facilitate small to large stakeholder sessions and meetings.
  • Liaise with project staff to solve complex stakeholder related issues.
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints in a timely manner while maintaining relevant up-to-date stakeholder databases.
  • Establish relevant metrics to assess the success of communication strategies and stakeholder engagement efforts.

Experience you’ll need:

  • Min 5 years’ experience in stakeholder engagement, ideally within infrastructure, transport, or logistics sectors. Demonstrated understanding of stakeholder engagement principles and communication best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and leadership in a project environment.
