About the role and you:
Due to organizational growth, a new position has arisen for an Environment and Planning Lead to play a key role in supporting the delivery of major projects across the business, in the water sector. This role will be both an advisory and hands-on role in some of the largest, most complex projects and programs within this sector.
Your core skill set in the fields of Environmental Impact Assessment and Statutory Planning, together with your strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management will be an asset to this position. As a Environment and Planning Lead, you will be passionate about supporting our Centre of Excellence, and ready to provide insights and advice that solve our client’s problems and deliver initiatives, programs and projects.
What you'll do:
- Develop and implement strategic plans related to Environmental & Planning projects in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with senior management to establish long-term planning and environmental strategies.
- Support our new Water Security Program consultancy team in relation to Environmental management matters.
- Keep abreast of local, regional, and national planning and environmental regulations, ensuring that all projects and initiatives comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
- Lead and oversee planning and environmental projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are executed on time and within budget.
- Liaison with statutory authorities for environmental, work permits and approvals.
- Conduct or oversee environmental impact assessments (EIAs) to evaluate potential effects of development projects on the environment and communities. Propose mitigation measures to minimize negative impacts and ensure sustainable development.
- Provision of technical environmental advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Support work programmes to ensure that they are delivered to client expectations, timeframes, costs and specifications
Experience you'll need:
- Tertiary qualifications or similar relevant qualifications.
- Thorough understanding and experience of Environmental Impact Assessment and Statutory Planning processes.
- An experienced Leader, with the ability to manage a diverse portfolio of functions whilst maintaining a focus on critical issues.
- Proven experience in multi-disciplinary project management overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of major projects.
- Proven commercial acumen including contractual management, tenders & bids, legal & procurement activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals, including government agencies, community representatives, and industry professionals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Sound understanding of integrated management systems encompassing quality, safety and environmental aspects.
- A consultancy and/or public sector background experience is preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of the Water and Energy sectors is preferable.

Project Managers
We are looking for ambitious and versatile Experienced Project Engineers and/or Project Managers to support us in delivering several strategic projects for our key clients across the Water Sector.

Responsibilities:
- Provide project management, engineering and technical advice to Sequana clients specific to the projects you will be working on
- Have full ownership of project outcomes through the utilisation of project management tools and methodologies with a high degree of competence
- Manage your workstreams to the agreed budget, time and quality for major projects reporting to the Project Director and senior PM
- Implement judgement in planning and selecting appropriate project management processes and approaches to fit the needs of the project

Skills and Qualifications:

Project Commercial and Procurement Advisor
As a Project Procurement Lead at Sequana Partners, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the procurement process. This position is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, identifying cost-saving opportunities, conducting market research, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective procurement practices.
The Procurement Lead also works to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure favourable terms and conditions. Drawing on your expertise and experience in major infrastructure projects, particularly within the water sector, your focus on end-to-end procurement activities, from early planning to project completion, will contribute to the overall success of our projects and the achievement of our clients' objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of procurement plans, including the identification of procurement strategies, sourcing options, and contract structures, considering the specific needs of each project.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that focus on cost reduction, supplier diversity, risk management, and sustainability.
Utilize your expertise in government procurement processes and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize the procurement approach for projects involving public sector clients. - Oversee the end-to-end tendering and contracting processes, including the preparation of tender documentation, evaluation of bids, negotiation of contracts, and contract award.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, legal teams, and regulatory bodies, to ensure effective communication, address commercial concerns, and maintain positive relationships.

PROJECT ENGAGEMENT LEAD

About the role and you:

The Project Engagement Manager (Stakeholder/Engagement Lead) for the Water Security Program is a vital role responsible for overseeing and managing stakeholder relationships and engagement strategies within the Water Security program. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and cooperation between the program and its diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, NGOs, private sector entities, and the general public.
What you'll do:
- Oversee Water Security Program Stakeholder and Communications Engagement Planning (including Wyaralong, Gold Coast Business Cases).
- Develop a stakeholder and engagement plan for the SEQ Desalination Plant to support a possible Business Case.
- Conduct comprehensive stakeholder mapping exercises to identify relevant stakeholders, their interests, and their influence within the water security landscape. Analyze their concerns, needs, and expectations to inform engagement strategies.
- Monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and expenses to ensure projects are delivered within agreed-upon financial parameters. Optimize resource utilization and allocation to achieve project goals efficiently.
- Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement strategy that outlines the approaches, methods, and tools for effective communication, collaboration, and consultation. Ensure the strategy aligns with the program's goals and objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including regular communication, meetings, workshops, and consultations.
- Facilitate collaboration and partnership opportunities between the Water Security program and stakeholders to enhance collective action.
- Develop and implement communication plans to ensure Timely and accurate information sharing with stakeholders.
- Establish mechanisms to measure and evaluate stakeholder engagement effectiveness. Collect feedback, assess stakeholder satisfaction, and use data to refine strategies and improve engagement practices.
