Mike is a major projects and infrastructure specialist with a commercial and engineering background. Mike has over 45 years’ experience in the Australian and International Water Industry. Mike spent 25 years in the Private Sector managing the Design, Construction, Commissioning and Operation of Water & Wastewater Assets and is the former Managing Director of Thames Water A/P in Australia and Asia/ Pacific.

Frank Fisseler, PhD, is an infrastructure executive and commercial lawyer with over 25 years of experience. Beginning his career in investment banking and venture capital in Switzerland and the U.S., Frank transitioned to infrastructure project management in 2007 as the Executive Director and Deputy Project Director of the Victorian Desalination Project, a $3.6 billion public-private partnership (PPP). In this role, he managed the project from inception through to operations. In 2015, Frank established his first infrastructure advisory firm, providing strategic project management and advisory services exclusively to client-side government entities. Since then, he has led numerous large-scale and complex projects as Project Director, demonstrating a proven ability to strategically plan and manage high-stakes infrastructure initiatives. In December 2019, he co-founded Sequana with Mike Walsh to create a hybrid of a Big 4 firm and a large engineering service provider, serving as a platform for growth in the infrastructure advisory sector. Frank is passionate about transforming projects that are delayed or facing significant cost overruns, leveraging his expertise to successfully restructure and resolve high-profile risks to government and key stakeholders.

Greg brings more than 25 years of expertise in commercial and financial strategy, with a proven track record of financial management, investment oversight, and family office operations. Known for his strategic foresight and meticulous attention to detail, Greg has successfully implemented frameworks that balance risk and reward while aligning financial outcomes with long-term business goals. Greg is also an experienced adviser in both the public and private sector, advising on major infrastructure projects. His deep specialisation includes procurement, delivery, financing, and operations of complex infrastructure assets. He has played a pivotal role in delivering transformative projects such as the Goulburn Murray Water Connections Project, Victorian Desalination Project, West Gate Tunnel Project, Western Distributor Project, EastLink, and the Spencer Street Station redevelopment (Southern Cross Station). Greg’s experience spans critical aspects of infrastructure finance and delivery, including business case preparation, financial modelling, tender assessment, contract negotiation, government approvals, construction management, operational dispute resolution, and debt refinancing. Greg's strategic leadership and financial acumen ensure that projects achieve optimal outcomes while aligning with organisational goals.

As the Chief Operating Officer, Trudi brings a wealth of expertise to Sequana. With nearly 20 years of experience in Project Management and Leadership roles, Trudi is a versatile practitioner adept at managing complex high-value-high-risk projects. Trudi specialises in project governance, strategy, leadership, and project delivery. Trudi’s expertise spans both private and public sectors and is complemented by her hydrogeological expertise and integral data systems experience underpinning Water Management Plans. Highly regarded within the sector, Trudi has been commended by clients for her critical thinking, strength of character, wealth of knowledge, drive and determination when it comes to driving meaningful impact and success for the clients and projects she undertakes.

Natalie is an experienced project manager with 20 years delivering projects within the Australian water industry. Recognised for going the extra mile to ensure positive project, organisation and commercial outcomes. Natalie has strong data management and analysis skills and the ability to communicate and engage with all stakeholders from customers to Board members and Government representatives.

Daniel has a wealth of rural water and senior leadership experience, with over 23 years of practical, hands-on experience, spanning Operations Management, Customer Service to Transformation Manager. His vast executive experience extends to strategy and services planning,  asset management, business cases, ESC Pricing submissions, stakeholder engagement and Incident and recovery.

With over 23 years’ experience in the water industry, David is a dynamic and visionary leader with a technical foundation in engineering and economic analysis of water infrastructure covering hydrology, hydraulics, water and sewage treatment, pipelines and reservoirs. He combines this technical foundation with curiosity, business acumen, people leadership capability and an open, authentic communication style to build teams focused on achieving clients’ strategic objectives.

Kate is an accomplished communications and engagement professional with more than 20 years of experience leading strategic programs across the public and private sectors. She brings deep expertise in stakeholder engagement, media, government relations, and events, with a strong focus on the water sector, spanning policy, infrastructure, and project delivery in both urban and regional communities.

Known for her lateral thinking and calm leadership in complex and often contentious contexts, Kate specialises in designing engagement approaches that foster trust, collaboration, and meaningful participation.

Holding an Executive MBA, Kate contributes actively to the sector through her mentoring role with the Australian Water Association and as a member of the Engagement Institute Advocacy Committee. She is passionate about advancing best practice, strengthening voices, and driving continual improvement in engagement across Australia.

Hannah has over 10 years’ experience in the water and wastewater industry working as a design engineer and project manager in the private sector. She has project experience across the planning, concept design, detailed design and delivery phases. Hannah has worked within government agencies on secondment and has a collaborative style of working to achieve project objectives.

Darren is a highly regarded project manager and people person with excellent communication skills and the ability to excel at building strong relationships with stakeholders. He is a water infrastructure specialist, having held a number of senior managerial roles over the past 25 years, gaining extensive experience in project managing large-scale water, wastewater, and irrigation infrastructure projects from both a client and contractor side. Darren’s collaborative approach allows him to create a cohesive project team that delivers exceptional results every time.

Ali is an accomplished Associate Director with a focus on commercial advisory and transaction management in the water sector. With a wealth of experience spanning large engineering and management consultancies and government statutory corporations, he brings deep expertise in water project and program management. Ali's background encompasses various facets of engineering projects, including asset management and planning, design engineering, project management, and construction and commissioning. He has demonstrated proficiency in providing strategic commercial advice and effectively managing transactions to drive project success and deliver value to stakeholders.

Ian Filby has broad experience across the private consulting and public sectors bringing an ability to align engineering solutions and policy. He uses this knowledge and understanding of the water, resources and energy sectors to provide decarbonisation strategies for our clients.

Daniel is a Project Director working in the water sector. Daniel has extensive experience in senior management roles on State-significant capital works programs. This includes irrigation, transfer pipeline, water treatment plant, and environmental projects. He has led project teams for both client and contractor organisations under varied delivery and governance models. Daniel has a strong track record of scoping, establishing, and leading the delivery of major projects. Daniel’s strong interpersonal skills combined with experience, technical understanding and construction contract knowledge provides a unique skill set to support project success.

Rhys has a genuine passion for the development and delivery of city-shaping infrastructure. He applies this passion and curiosity to building a broad technical knowledge base encompassing water systems, renewable energy and sustainability. With experience spanning engineering design, client-side project delivery, and strategic consulting, Rhys can translate complex ideas into clear, actionable plans. Rhys has a proven track record of effectively communicating these strategies within organisations, ensuring clarity and fostering alignment among cross-functional teams. Rhys’ approach emphasises collaborative engagement to achieve organisational buy-in and inspiring action.  

Eric has over 25 years of experience in the water industry, having worked across all aspects of the field, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations. He has led performance transformation programs and has gained diverse international experience delivering numerous corporate and operations projects over $100M under a wide range of contractual models and multicultural team structures.    ​He is passionate about innovation and the environmental challenges we are facing today. Danya is an accomplished Talent Acquisition Manager and HR professional with over 15 years of experience spanning the Engineering, Professional Services, Consulting, Technology, and Financial Services Industries. Demonstrating an unwavering passion for identifying and nurturing top talent, Danya has played a pivotal role in building high-performing teams and driving organisational success. At Sequana, Danya is Head of People & Culture and plays a key role in leading and managing all aspects of the talent acquisition and HR function. She oversees the development and implementation of strategic human resources and recruitment strategies, employee onboarding programs, and retention initiatives. Danya regularly collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organisation's talent needs and works to attract, hire, and retain top talent. She also plays a key role in promoting a positive organisational culture and ensuring compliance with HR laws and regulations.

Kylie brings more than 25 years experience and a proven track record in commercial and procurement roles within water, oil, gas, and mining industries in both private and Government sectors.  Holding significant experience in all aspects of commercial, procurement and contract management Kylie’s skills include business case preparation, program and project management, procurement strategy and execution.   Kylie is a strategic thinker who strives for excellence, with a specific interest in commercial management for major projects, ensuring optimal outcomes are achieved on a risk based approach.  Kylie integrates seamlessly into project teams, has strong stakeholder focus and provides clients with solutions that achieve their project needs.    Kylie has performed key roles in delivering major water projects in Australia including Seqwater’s Water Security Program, Queensland Government’s Western Corridor Recycled Water Project and Gold Coast Desalination Plant Project, Goulburn Murray Water Connections and Water Efficiency Projects, along with projects in Victoria for Greater Western Water, Coliban Water and Lower Murray Water. 

Engineering leader with over 25 years of Project management experience across the Oil and Gas and Water industries, bringing a collaborative approach with multi-discipline exposure across front end, design, regulatory approvals, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations and decommissioning. Scott has developed core skills in Engineering leadership, Construction/Project Management, mentoring and development, technical analysis, integration and stakeholder engagement. As Project Manager for the SE Qld Northern Desalination Plant, Scott is leading the investigations into the development of a new climate-independent water source for Southeast Queensland. Prior to this, Scott was managing a large team producing multiple reference designs for a stageable 300MLD Desal plant, tunnel and marine infrastructure, transfer pipelines and associated water grid upgrades, as well as several Environmental, Social and Economic studies to support Detailed Business Cases. 

With deep expertise in stakeholder engagement, communications, and social performance, Jody brings over 25 years of experience in managing complex infrastructure projects, regulatory approvals, and community relations.   With a track record of successfully navigating high-stakes projects in the water, energy, and transport sectors, Jody is known for building trust, fostering collaboration, and delivering meaningful social and economic outcomes for communities and stakeholders alike.  Jody is committed to creating lasting social and economic benefits through strategic stakeholder engagement. Whether leading large-scale community consultation efforts, facilitating regulatory approvals, or guiding social impact initiatives, Jody’s approach is always collaborative, solution-focused, and impact-driven. 

Anne leads the delivery of complex environmental and planning projects across the water, environment, and energy sectors. With a strong focus on strategic leadership, Anne oversees multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet regulatory standards while achieving timely and cost-effective outcomes. Additionally, she plays a vital role in shaping and implementing the growth strategy for the Environment and Planning team, driving business development and client engagement initiatives.   Anne brings a wealth of expertise to the role. As an Environmental and Statutory Planner, she has worked extensively with water utility and government clients, preparing environmental impact assessments, business cases, and approvals for key infrastructure projects. Her portfolio includes projects like new water treatment plants, pump stations, plant augmentations, and pipeline networks. With her deep understanding of legislative and impact assessment requirements, Anne has demonstrated excellence in identifying and resolving environmental and development risks early in the project lifecycle. Her ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors ensures smooth project delivery and exceptional outcomes.  

Jackie has over 25 years of global experience in civil infrastructure projects across both private and public sectors, including roads, drainage, foreshores, water, wastewater, and solid waste. She is a recognised leader with a proven track record in successfully delivering programs and assets from planning, strategy, specification, procurement, commercial and contract management, to final delivery.  Jackie has demonstrated strong leadership abilities, ensuring goals are achieved and superior outcomes are delivered to asset owners. She excels in building positive long-term relationships with key engineering, environmental, and operational stakeholders. Recently, Jackie led the team in delivering capital waste (landfill and waste and resource recovery) infrastructure portfolio for the City of Gold Coast (CoGC). Before this, she managed the commercial contract delivery for CoGC’s Water and Waste strategic collaborative contracting arrangements, overseeing the lifecycle delivery of water and waste assets and resource recovery services contracts. 

Madeleine is the Regional Environment and Planning Lead - North and West in the Sequana Environment and Planning team. She has 24 years of experience in environmental management and has been responsible for the delivery of numerous large-scale multi-disciplinary projects. She has worked in the capacity of Discipline Lead and Project Manager during all stages of planning and design as well as construction and maintenance phases and has successfully led the effective interface and connection between the engineering design components, environmental compliance and stakeholder and regulatory requirements of major infrastructure projects. Madeleine provides technical and specialist environmental advice and has extensive skills in managing the delivery of environmental assessments and approvals, environmental reporting and contract documentation, engaging with stakeholders including state and federal government regulators. She has experience in a range of sectors including renewable energy, transport, master planning, and water and wastewater.

​Jean-Michel Seillier is a seasoned water industry executive with over 40 years of global experience in utility management, contract negotiation, and operational leadership. A qualified chemical engineer, Jean-Michel has held senior positions in France, Malaysia, the United States, and Australia, leading major water and wastewater service contracts, capital works programs, and strategic operational transitions. His career spans public and private sectors, including executive roles with Veolia, where he managed large-scale infrastructure operations and pioneered digital transformation initiatives. Currently a Strategic Advisor at Sequana, Jean-Michel supports utilities across Australia with the planning, procurement, and operation of complex water infrastructure projects. He is known for his collaborative leadership, long-term relationship building, and expertise in culture change, mentoring, and delivering performance outcomes across diverse teams.
