Three of Australia’s leading water infrastructure specialists have joined forces in a major industry move set to reshape the delivery of water, environment, and energy projects nationwide.
Sequana, one of Australia’s fastest-growing strategic advisory and project management consultancies, has partnered with Atlas Engineering Group, a technical leader in brownfield water and wastewater programs, and IPS (Infrastructure Project Solutions), a Brisbane-based engineering and construction delivery specialist, to connect the dots across the entire infrastructure lifecycle.
This expanded partnership brings together Sequana’s strategic, commercial, and project management expertise, Atlas’s deep technical and engineering capability, and IPS’s hands-on complex infrastructure, construction and delivery experience. The result: a team of around 200 professionals delivering end-to-end infrastructure solutions spanning the entire asset lifecycle, from strategy and planning to design, delivery, and long-term asset management.
“This is a major step forward for our clients, the sector and our people,” said Frank Fisseler, Sequana Co-Founder and CEO. “Together with Atlas and IPS, we’re scaling up to tackle bigger challenges, unlock greater value for clients, and deliver long-term environmental and community impact. We are stronger together.”
This dual partnership marks the first major milestone in Sequana’s ambitious growth strategy following its 2024 strategic investment by Pemba Capital Partners. Since its founding in 2019, Sequana has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor and delivery partner for complex water infrastructure projects across Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia.
Atlas, known for its technical depth in brownfield water and wastewater programs, enhances Sequana’s reach and capability across New South Wales and Victoria. Founder and Managing Director, Scott Rudram said the partnership unlocks new horizons, “Sequana’s strong leadership, culture and advisory depth complement our technical capability. Our people will benefit from broader project exposure, career pathways, and shared learning across both teams. It’s a win for our client and our people.”
IPS, founded by Queensland’s Professional Engineer of the Year, Sascha Kurz, brings a team with a strong track record in complex infrastructure delivery. IPS adds specialist construction management, technical engineering acumen, and on-ground experience that strengthens the group’s delivery capacity.
“This partnership enables us to go further and deliver smarter solutions for clients,” said Sascha Kurz, Founder of IPS. “With more than 60 water, environment, and energy specialists now based in Brisbane, we’re one of the largest teams in the local sector. We thrive on complex challenges and are excited to combine our expertise with Sequana and Atlas to provide a true end-to-end infrastructure solution.”
Sequana has been certified a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years, supported by market market-leading Employee Value Proposition, including the high-impact Sequana Academy, personalised in-house leadership coaching, and structured mentorship programs. IPS was also shortlisted in the AFR’s Best Places to Work in 2024. The combined partnership reflects a shared focus on people, purpose and performance.
Sequana’s vision has always been to challenge the traditional consulting model by delivering real-world results through genuine collaboration. “This partnership with Atlas and IPS takes that to the next level—offering clients broader capability, national reach, and a team united by purpose,” said Frank.
“We’re combining the best of strategic advisory, engineering know-how, and construction delivery to help solve Australia’s most pressing infrastructure challenges. It’s about doing meaningful work, at scale, with people who care.
“Our clients want partners who can see the big picture while ensuring the details are taken care of. Together, we bring strategic foresight, technical excellence, and delivery certainty under one roof.
“With Atlas and IPS, we now offer a comprehensive service offering across the full project lifecycle—from policy and planning through to engineering, construction and operations—creating a resilient, integrated solution for infrastructure across the country.”
With a strong pipeline of work and a unified national footprint, the Sequana–Atlas–IPS partnership is set to redefine success in Australian water, environment, and energy infrastructure delivery.
