Sequana was appointed as the Project Delivery Partners by Legacie to develop an Order of Magnitude Study. The purpose of the study is to understand the viability of the project so that stakeholders can make informed decisions on future investments to the project.
• The Ngarluma Water Project (NWP) aims to construct a common user desalination plant and associated infrastructure on the Pilbara coast, to provide desalinated water to the existing and future industries in the Pilbara region.
• The Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation is an equity shareholder in the project seeking to deliver inter-generational opportunities for their community.
• The project involves a seawater desalination plant with an ultimate capacity of 150GL/a and a transfer pipeline to the Maitland and Boodarie Strategic Industrial Areas. The desalination plant will provide a sustainable alternative water source to current groundwater use in the Pilbara.
