National Water Week series – Trudi Woodward’s story.

For Trudi, growing up in the United Kingdom (UK), the abundance of water was always apparent.

If anything it was more about how you could control the amount of rainfall you received, especially with the ever-increasing population and ageing infrastructure.

“It was a devastating localised flooding event in my town during my last year at University that drove my passion to study the cause, effect and mitigations of flooding as my thesis.

“To then arrive in Australia in 2006 and experience the other end of the spectrum – the search for potable water to help support regional emergency town supplies was so eye opening.

“It never ceases to amaze me what real-life impacts we make within this industry, the challenges we face and the innovative solutions we collectively work on to implement.”
