Work, Health & Safety Policy

This Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Policy shows the commitment of Sequana management and resources to health, safety and welfare. Sequana will implement a risk management approach to managing health and safety and make every effort, where reasonably practicable, to eliminate or minimise risks associated with the workplace and the work performed by its resources.

Sequana is committed to effective consultation and engagement with Sequana resources and clients in relation to WHS matters. We recognise that there are times that we share a primary duty of care with other duty holders in regards to our resources and therefore we are committed to consult, cooperate and coordinate with other duty holders to produce the required health and safety outcomes.

Sequana is committed to:

  • Achieve a safe and incident free workplace
  • Consider WHS in the provision of services to clients and all work activities
  • Ensure Sequana resources identify and control risks in their workplace
  • Monitor and review the elimination or control of potential hazards and risks
  • Comply with OHS Legislation and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Consult and co-operate with co-workers and clients in all matters relating to health and safety in the workplace
  • Improvement of our system through monitoring and review.

Sequana will strive to provide and maintain:

  • Improvement of our system through monitoring and review
  • A safe working environment and safe systems of work that promotes and supports the physical and psychological health and wellbeing of employees in the workplace
  • Facilities for the welfare of workers
  • Undertake risk management activities to identify, eliminate and/or manage risks
  • Information, instruction, training and supervision that is reasonably necessary to ensure that each resource is safe from injury and risks to health
  • A culture of inclusiveness, diversity and equality in all facets of our business.

Sequana in practice:

  • Comply with safe work practices, with the intent of avoiding injury to themselves and others and damage to plant and equipment
  • Take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and others
  • Wear personal protective equipment and clothing where necessary
  • Comply with any direction given by for health and safety
  • Not misuse or interfere with anything provided for health and safety
  • Report all incidents and near-misses on the job immediately, no matter how trivial
  • Report all known or observed hazards to clients.
